![]() Not being able to sleep isn't a huge deal, since new players often have a hard time managing sleep anyways. The crafting perk eases the pressure to find gold and the strain on other early resources. Wicker still ranks high in my opinion, because she gets increased sanity and improved crafting. Beginners likely won't even get to use books for several runs, after all, and if they understand how to use books effectively, they aren't beginners. Wickerbottom : I can already hear the screaming for me ranking Wicker so high for beginners. The true difference between Wilson and Wendy is Wilson's beard vs. It sounds big, but in practice, if you die in combat, the -25% damage was probably not your problem. Wendy : Abigail is not very useful for beginners who can't use her effectively, but Wendy's only real weakness is that she deals 75% damage. Being able to craft Meat Effigy more easily is also a nice bonus. His beard is an amazing perk since keeping warm in the winter is also a huge obstacle for new players. Wilson : He has no real weaknesses for new players to cope with, which is a huge plus. Like Kuirem, I think characters have to be ranked differently for beginners and experienced players, though my metrics (and therefore results) vary a little bit from his. This character is so strong that ranking him will put all of the others out. They do not really matter on the long run since Spider farm are not really hard and there are plenty of way to restore Hunger so it is really a matter of preference You lost a bunch of advantages (high sanity restoration from Pigs for example) and gain some (eat raw MM, Spiders army). Woodie : Can farm crazy fast and Gnaw through almost anything with his Werebeaver form. ![]()
